I migrated to the US with my family over a decade ago, driven by two aspirations: to provide my loved ones with a better life, and to one day become a successful entrepreneur. I was born and raised in Mexico. My father worked his way up so he could buy his own small pizza restaurant franchise. Like him, I have been working hard for almost 20 years to achieve my goals. I was fortunate to receive a scholarship to attend a great university in Mexico. While in college, I worked as a warehouse helper, where I worked in a building materials warehouse, operating a forklift and helping load product manually into trucks. After I graduated from college, I worked as the manager of a building materials store in the middle of the 2008 recession, and later, I managed and brought back to profitability a group of 16 stores in the south of Mexico. My academic achievements and professional background helped me get accepted and obtain a scholarship to the University of Chicago and eventually migrate to the US. I was fortunate to work with some of the world's best companies, including PwC and BCG, and learn management from world-class mentors and leaders. After years of hard work and preparation, I am now looking to be the successor of a great business founder, and build on their legacy.
